First off, if you haven’t figured it out yet, Bruce Wayne isn’t the current Batman on Earth 592. Instead, Batman is a mantle that has passed through a few hands. Like always, There isn’t going to be anything posted below that you can’t find on http://earth-592.robjustice.net.
“Tomorrow belongs to Batman.”
From the intelligence we’ve gathered over the years these are the best assumptions we’ve been able to make as far as the identity of the Batman goes. We know that the ultimate executor of the title belonged to Bruce Wayne until his passing in 2008, when is biological offspring, Damian Wayne, took full ownership of the title. Over the years Bruce made numerous decisions on who should hold the title when, including some less than popular forced changes. Most notably in 1966 when Bruce allowed actor Adam West to hold the title during the run of the Batman TV series and then in 1986 when Bruce forced Richard Grayson to drop the cowl to Jean Paul Valley, rationing that a darker more violent approach than they were capable of was needed.
While some of this is speculation, two bluffs have pinpointed the identity of The Batman. In 1992 we confirmed that Timothy Drake was The Batman and that he was working with Richard Grayson who had retired from the role a few years prior. Then in 2012 we confirmed that Damian Wayne was the current alias, under former tutelage of the late Bruce Wayne followed by his current mentor Richard Grayson. There has been no indication that the cowl has changed hands since 2012.
Damien is the biological child of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. Raised in secret by Talia and the League of Shadows he first met his father when he was 14 years old. He spent the next seven years in tutelage under his father and his father’s associates. There hasn’t been a day of Damien’s life where he hasn’t been training to become the Batman.
More than any Batman in the last fifty years, Damien values stealth and subtly. In the seven years that he’s been active as Batman there have been less than five photographs, videos, or recorded proof of his presence.
While he’s done his best to honor his father’s wishes, Damien is starting to let his origin show. His assaults have been growing more and more aggressive and he’s started carrying weapons with him.
